Founded in 2015, Nobox Films is a Kuala Lumpur-based video production company creating commercials, corporate films and branded content in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin for brands, businesses and organisations across Malaysia. Whether it's a nimble social content shoot or a large-scale TV commercial production, we approach every project with curiosity, craft and a belief that every story deserves its own perspective — and its own way of connecting with people.
We start by understanding what the video is actually for — the goal, the audience, and where it will run. That answer changes the budget, the crew and the format, so we get it right before anything else.
You receive a creative direction and a clear costing, so you can see the idea and the investment together. Nothing goes into production until both are approved.
Casting, locations, scheduling, scripts and approvals are locked before the crew arrives. A well-prepared shoot is a calm one — and a calm shoot is a better film.
We produce the film, then edit, grade, mix and deliver in every format you need — including vertical cuts for social, and versions in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin.
It depends entirely on scope — a single-day social shoot and a multi-location TV commercial are different projects with different crews, and quoting one figure for both would be meaningless. Tell us the goal and a rough budget range in your enquiry and we will tell you honestly what is achievable within it, including if we think the budget and the ambition do not match.
Most of the timeline is decided before the camera rolls. Once the brief and treatment are approved, pre-production, shoot and post follow a schedule we agree with you upfront. Share your deadline in the enquiry — if it is tight, we will say so rather than promise something we cannot deliver.
Either. Many clients come to us with a goal rather than a script, and we develop the creative direction and treatment from there. If you already have a concept or an agency script, we can produce to it.
Yes. We produce in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin, including scripting, talent and voiceover — which matters when the same campaign needs to land with different audiences across Malaysia.
Yes. We are based in Kuala Lumpur and shoot throughout Malaysia, and we take projects further afield in the region. Tell us where the shoot needs to happen and we will factor it into the quote.
Yes, and it is worth deciding early. A film framed for a 16:9 screen rarely performs when cropped to vertical afterwards — planning both from the start costs far less than reshooting. We deliver landscape, square and vertical cuts as needed.
